A voice from the chair

Dear Members, Executive Committee and players,

It gives me great pleasure to be part of Osterley Cricket Club. I am grateful to all the members who have put trust in me by electing me as the Chairman of this prestigious club. With the confidence and support extended to me at the AGM, I was encouraged to take the challenge up and since the take over I realized that this really was a challenge!

There are quite a few issues to be looked into including finances, buildings, grounds and equipment, just to  mention a few. We have already kicked off!

I have spoken to Lord Young, a local resident and the member of the House of Lords to be our honorary Patron to which he has kindly consented. We have held initial meetings with the representatives of both Middlesex and ECB and have shared our ideas.

A new 5 year development plan for the club has already been laid out and it is available at the play-cricket website (Link). Constitutional reforms have already been proposed and approved (Link). It has been agreed and decided that most of the information, including finance, a calender for booking the grounds and club house (Link) etc will be available on-line.

The committee is now working on the road map for the long term development of the club to include more wider aspects of sports and other activities.

Your continuous support will keep me going.

With best regards,
Dr Ghulam Murtaza

Chairman – Osterley CC
